If you had missed it I think this is interesting: Jimquisition brings up the creepyness of the attitude towards female protagonists by the gaming industry higher-ups.

This was very interesting (barring the ending where I didn’t like his implication that any men turned off must be secretly gay themselves, or his sexual taunts at them). Especially the part about publishers specifically saying they didn’t want to put the heroine on the cover of the game, and that a developer was told that their heroine couldn’t have a straight relationship because it would turn off the straight male audience.

Well… that’s certainly a thing to watch. I kinda wish I was a superheroine that’d go and kick those publishers’ butts. Oh well, instead I’ll be a heroine who’ll wait a few years and maybe become a publisher herself. And THEN kick the market AND the publishers in their butts coz she just won’t care female protagonists don’t sell. She’ll make it work.
